Job Summary and Responsibilities : Under the direction of the Director of Truckload Sales, the Freight Specialist ensures the best possible customer experience, you will resolve customer questions and offer solutions to drive company revenue. Tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
Independently identify, generate, and close new sales opportunities through both inside and outside sales
Procure capacity and foster relationships with carrier partners
Maintain updated and current records of accounts through TMS
Manage all aspects of account management for transportation brokerage accounts
Willingness to collaborate within brokerage team
Present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers
Prospect and contact potential customers (Phone, email, and in person visits)
Reach agreed upon sales targets
Resolve customer inquiries and complaints
Set follow-up appointments to keep customers aware of latest developments
Build and develop a thorough understanding of logistics and 3PL industry Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of high school diploma or GED
Minimum of 1 year experience required,2 years preferred. At least 1 year logistics experience, 2- 3 years preferred
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of both customer and carrier’s organizations
Strong negotiation skills
Problem solving and strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Highly motivated with an ability to work independently as well as in a group setting
Must have excellent phone and email communication skills, ability to multitask, and occasionally assist clients after hours.
