Nuovo Pasta Productions is looking for an experienced Freight & Logistics Coordinator to join our team Monday – Friday from 7:30am – 4:00pm. This individual will be experienced with TMS and freight.
Main Function:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of goods throughout the supply chain, including transportation coordination, and communication with vendors and customers to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. Cost optimization of freight, utilizing transportation management systems for current freight suppliers and identifying new transportation companies to effectively negotiate the safest, most dependable and cost-efficient freight solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning and monitoring inbound and outbound shipments.
Negotiate and secure transportation rates within established budgets. Ensure carrier compliance with company policies and procedures for product transit or delivery.
Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification and performance evaluations.
Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment and frequency.
Coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and transport companies.
Oversee product import and export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
Plan and track final shipments (including costs and timelines) according to customer requests.
Oversee the movement and distribution of finished goods in a timely manner.
Prepare detailed, accurate reports reflecting the performance of on-time and complete deliveries according to customer standards
Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports, exports and customer issues.
Resolve freight rejections and damaged goods claims to satisfactory completion.
Utilizing logistics IT software to monitor and optimize shipping procedures.
Timely resolution of critical freight issues.
Maintaining organized records of warehouse and completed orders.
Resolve shipping and inventory issues for stakeholders in a timely manner.
Analyze logistics-related data and suggest improvements for efficiency.
Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, and customer service logs for training or safety records.
Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting and customized transportation metrics.
Strategically coordinate logistics with warehouse, transportation and customer services.
Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
Ensure that the Nuovo GMP, HACCP, and Food Defense Plans are followed. Report any discrepancies to the Fulfillment Director that may compromise product safety, quality and security.
Performs other duties as assigned by senior management.
Education and Qualifications:
3 – 5 years of freight and logistics experience.
Experience utilizing TMS (Transportation Management Systems).
Experience in shipping fresh, frozen and ambient products within temperature and shelf-life requirements.
Experience in negotiating associated freight fees such as fuel surcharges, lumper and loading fees.
Work effectively in diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with exporting product to Canada and Mexico.
Ability to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities/task in a fast-paced work environment with high attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written, required.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Able to meet short- and long-term deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
