For our client, we are looking for a Freight Forwarding Specialist with practical experience in organizing international and domestic transportation. The role combines the coordination of transportation and logistics processes with the active sourcing and negotiation of loads for the company’s own fleet. We are looking for a commercially oriented professional with a good understanding of the European transport market and a strong focus on route, fleet, and cost optimization.
Primary Responsibilities of the Role:
- Plan and coordinate international and domestic road transportation;
- Actively source and negotiate loads for the company’s own fleet across Bulgaria–Europe and intra-European routes;
- Optimize routes, vehicle utilization, empty mileage, and transportation costs;
- Organize standard and oversized cargo, including specialized low-loader transportation;
- Coordinate oversized transport projects, including permits, routes, escort vehicles, and country-specific requirements;
- Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and conditions with clients, carriers, and freight forwarding partners;
- Track shipments and coordinate transportation documentation, customs, loading/unloading, and import/export procedures;
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, freight forwarders, suppliers, and other logistics partners.
Desired skills and experience:
- Degree in Logistics, Transport, Economics, International Trade, or a related field;
- Previous experience in freight forwarding, international transportation, or logistics;
- Experience in sourcing and negotiating loads and working with freight exchange platforms;
- Good knowledge of European road transportation and transport documentation;
- Experience with oversized cargo and specialized transportation is a strong advantage;
- Good computer literacy and experience with ERP, GPS, or transport management systems;
- Good command of English; an additional foreign language is a plus;
- Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
