We’re Hiring: Freight Forwarding Specialist
Location: Erbil, Iraq
Delterra Logistics is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Specialist to join our operations team in Erbil. This is a full-time, office-based position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating international freight operations, primarily between Turkey, Iraq, and global origins, while ensuring efficient shipment management and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end freight operations across land, sea, and air.
- Manage import/export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading (BL), CMR, and customs documentation.
- Communicate with clients, agents, shipping lines, and customs brokers.
- Coordinate shipments to and from Iraq, including Ibrahim Khalil and Umm Qasr border operations.
- Monitor shipment progress and resolve operational issues.
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers and logistics partners.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping processes and documentation.
- Experience handling shipments to and from Iraq is highly desirable.
- Fluent in English and Turkish (required).
- Arabic and Kurdish language skills are an advantage.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and email communication.
