Role Description The Freight Forwarder role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Bucharest Metropolitan Area. In this role, the professional coordinates and manages domestic and international freight shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective cargo movement by road. Daily tasks include preparing and reviewing transport documentation, arranging bookings with carriers, monitoring shipments, and proactively resolving operational issues. The Freight Forwarder communicates with clients and partners, provides accurate shipment information, and maintains high service standards. The role also involves optimizing routes, negotiating rates, supporting customs and compliance processes, and collaborating closely with internal teams to meet customer requirements and company performance targets.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding and forwarding operations, including organizing multimodal shipments and coordinating logistics flows.
- Experience with export procedures and documentation, including international trade regulations and customs-related processes.
- Proficiency in freight transportation planning and execution, with an understanding of road, rail, sea, and air transport options and cost structures.
- Customer service skills focused on building long-term relationships, managing inquiries, and providing clear, timely shipment updates.
- Relevant experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain; previous work in an international freight forwarding environment is an advantage.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills are beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and capability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to use logistics and ERP systems, as well as standard office software (e.g., Excel, Word, email tools).
- Education in logistics, supply chain management, international trade, or a related field is preferred.
