Role Description
Prepare and price cost-effective logistics plans for containerized (FCL, LCL), airfreight and road shipments (FTL, LTL), considering available deadlines and budget constraints.
Coordinate and manage end-to-end logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery of shipments.
Liaise directly with local offices and external partners to gather necessary information and provide clear instructions regarding shipments.
Collaborate with customs agents and ensure compliance with all import/export regulations and documentation requirements.
Monitor and track shipments throughout the transportation process to proactively address any issues and ensure on-time delivery.
Communicate shipment status and updates to relevant stakeholders, including clients and internal teams.
Evaluate transportation options and negotiate contracts with carriers, shipping lines, and other service providers to secure the best rates and services.
Manage documentation, including bills of lading, customs documents, and other necessary paperwork, to facilitate smooth cargo movement.
Resolve any shipment-related problems, such as delays, damages, or customs issues, in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure accurate and timely invoicing for completed operations, verifying costs and charges against agreed-upon rates.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to optimize freight forwarding processes.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness in logistics operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, shipping or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle unexpected logistics challenges.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
Detail-oriented and organized with a focus on accuracy in documentation and reporting.
Preferably +3 years of experience.
