Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. The Dispatcher will play a crucial role in coordinating the movement of freight and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in transportation management systems and a solid understanding of fleet management.
Duties
Coordinate and schedule shipments, ensuring timely dispatch of freight.
Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates on delivery status.
Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments and optimize routes.
Analyze transportation data to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure service quality.
Monitor fleet performance and address any issues that arise during transit.
Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including shipment details and driver assignments.
Skills
Proficiency in dispatching techniques and transportation management practices.
Familiarity with Oracle Transportation Management or similar software.
Strong analytical skills to assess transportation data and make informed decisions.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members and clients.
Experience with load board ( DAT ).
Ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
Knowledge of freight operations and logistics processes.
