Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Broker to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating the movement of goods by connecting shippers with carriers, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation solutions. This position requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and partners in the logistics industry.
Duties
Develop and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers to create a robust network for freight movement.
Negotiate pricing and terms with carriers to secure competitive rates for clients.
Manage the entire freight process from lead generation to delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction at every step.
Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track leads, manage accounts, and monitor sales performance.
Coordinate shipments using EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems for efficient communication between parties.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining ongoing communication with clients.
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize logistics operations and improve service delivery.
Experience
Proven experience in logistics sales or inside sales within the transportation industry is preferred.
Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully closing deals.
Familiarity with 3PL (Third Party Logistics) operations is advantageous.
Proficient in using various software tools related to logistics management and CRM systems.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on building customer relationships.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
