About Us
We are launching a transportation brokerage backed by an established company with over $20M in annual revenue and an existing book of freight. Unlike a startup building from zero, you’ll have immediate freight to manage while helping build the brokerage into a standalone business.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving logistics challenges, building relationships with carriers, and delivering exceptional customer service. This is an opportunity to help shape a growing brokerage from the ground up.
Position Summary
The Freight Broker will be responsible for sourcing carrier capacity, booking shipments, negotiating rates, tracking freight, and ensuring every shipment is delivered safely and on time. This person will work closely with our internal team and customers to provide reliable transportation solutions while helping establish operational processes as the company grows.
Responsibilities
· Source and book truck capacity for customer shipments.
· Build and maintain relationships with reliable carriers.
· Negotiate competitive transportation rates.
· Quote shipments and maximize gross margin.
· Coordinate pickups and deliveries.
· Track shipments from pickup through final delivery.
· Proactively communicate shipment updates to customers.
· Resolve service issues, delays, and exceptions.
· Maintain accurate shipment records within our transportation management system (TMS).
· Verify carrier compliance, insurance, and safety requirements.
· Assist in developing standard operating procedures as the brokerage grows.
Qualifications
· 2–5+ years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics, dispatch, or transportation.
· Strong understanding of truckload, LTL, and expedited freight.
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
· Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
· Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
· Experience with transportation management software preferred.
· Self-starter who enjoys building processes and solving problems.
Preferred Experience
· Existing carrier relationships.
· Experience supporting trade show, event, or time-sensitive freight.
· Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations and transportation compliance.

Success in This Role
Within the first 90 days, you’ll have established a reliable carrier network, successfully managed our initial freight volume, built strong relationships with customers and carriers, and helped create the operational foundation for a growing transportation brokerage.
Pay: $53,398.66 – $64,308.07 per year
