Freight Agent Jobs in Burlington, VT at Vermont Rail System
Duties include:
Clerking
Handling empty railcar releases
Bill of ladings for loaded and empty cars
Notifications to and from other railroads
Tracing railcars
Damaged railcar notifications
Distribute daily work instructions to train crews generated from TMS as well as any instructions from the Operations Department supervisory personnel.
Will also assist other departments and the railroad as a whole by transferring information in a timely manner between them. Information will include the status of cars found in need of repairs, cars found to be without billing, opportunities for improving processes, chargeable events, reported safety concerns, etc.
Creating reports for management
Miscellaneous filing and document management
Some weekend work will be required

Physical Requirements:
Constant (67-100%) talking and hearing either on the telephone or in person
Frequent (50-100%) viewing a computer and other types of close visual work
Occasional (10-25%) lifting over head or below waist up to 25 lbs.
