Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Perform order picking using <PERSON> pick techniques and ensure accurate selection for shipping orders.
- Manage inbound and outbound shipments by verifying quantities, inspecting loads, and ensuring proper documentation in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Assist with warehouse distribution tasks including stacking, staging, and organizing inventory for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Conduct routine equipment repairs or report maintenance needs to ensure machinery remains in optimal working condition.
- Support shipping & receiving activities by preparing freight for shipment and processing incoming deliveries with attention to safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve materials handling processes, and uphold safety protocols at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution practices including load & unload procedures and order picking techniques.
- Excellent understanding of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements.
- Previous experience in warehouse supervision or management is a plus but not required; a strong background in warehouse experience is essential.
