Fleet Manager

The Fleet Manager will perform various tasks and project-level assignments to support the company’s goal of maintaining a first-class fleet with Safety as a primary concern. Additional duties include oversight of the Tool Manager and Facilities Maintenance.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the acquisition and outfitting of new vehicles

Monitor fleet branding and processes

Administer fleet licensing and titling to ensure vehicles are registered annually with the State of Wisconsin

Annual review of vehicle replacements for Department budgeting

Read industry publications to stay knowledgeable of new technologies and best practices

Communication with drivers and managers (vehicle/driver compliance issues)

Act as primary contact for fleet services maintenance vendor

Act as the primary contact and coordinate annual compliance requirements for vehicle allowance program (Motus)

Attend seminars/conferences to network with other Fleet Professionals

Assist the Safety Group with driver training

Maintain vehicle and equipment records

Maintain up to date drivers list

Maintain and monitor internal gas & maintenance card program

Maintain and monitor telematics reporting and connectivity

Monitor CMV and CDL vehicles for compliance requirements

Monitor annual CPA programs with vehicle manufacturers

Requirements:

High School Diploma required.

Valid Driver’s License Required.

Must have familiarity with DOT regulations, governing the use of Commercial Vehicles.

Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of vehicle systems, components and design desired.

Prior experience in a Fleet Maintenance System or administrative role desired.

Positive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiable.

Ability to communicate with people both inside and outside of the organization, representing the company in a positive, professional manner.

Ability to work collaboratively with fellow employees in and outside the office.

Writing skills utilizing strong grammar in order to convey information and ideas in letters, memos, etc. so others will understand.

Ability to reason and think logically in problem-solving.

Professional and positive attitude toward responsibilities and coworkers.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize various daily responsibilities.

Ability to maintain and keep personnel information strictly confidential.

Ability to see details and recognize errors, working within precise standards of accuracy.

Advanced computer/technical skills including experience with Microsoft Office programs.

Enthusiasm for training in other software applications as needed.
