Job Overview
Spears Freight is seeking for dedicated and experienced Flatbed FTL 48-53 Step Deck , & Hot shot 32’ + Owner Operator Drivers to join our team. We have dedicated lanes both region and local with a high volume of freight leaving daily! Hot shot to Full Truck loads. Our supply chain consist of 50+ Carriers From Landstar, T.A. services, Armstrong Transport and more. We also deal with direct shippers daily. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. This role requires excellent driving skills, a thorough understanding of route planning, and the ability to handle loading and unloading tasks effectively Same day / Quick Pay is available. We also offer 24-7 Dispatch.
Duties
Safely operate commercial vehicles, including all size flatbeds.
Execute route driving efficiently while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.
Load and unload cargo as necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and cargo delivered.
Perform routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
Manage manual transmission vehicles with proficiency.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes or delays.
Qualifications
Proven experience in truck driving with a valid Driver’s License or commercial driver’s license (CDL).
Strong knowledge of load unloading procedures and forklift operation.
Excellent route planning skills with the ability to navigate efficiently.
Commitment to safety standards and regulations in commercial driving.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when necessary.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
