About the Opportunity

Are you a hunter with a passion for airfreight? Our client, a leading global freight forwarding and logistics company, is seeking a driven Field Sales Executive in Durban to develop new business with a primary focus on airfreight Business Customers, growing the Durban airfreight portfolio.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, this is a target-driven, new-business-focused role (70% new business / 30% retention) for a self-starter who thrives on prospecting, closing and building lasting client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

•    Identify, prospect and close new airfreight opportunities within the Business Customer segment in the Durban region

•    Align to regional and local airfreight trade lane strategies and actively position the client’s airfreight solutions

•    Seek and prospect for targets, winning new customers generally in the EUR 60k–1,000k net sales per annum range

•    Plan and manage medium to large-sized Business Customers, building rapport and trust through market and industry insight

•    Develop sales plans, strategies and activities to achieve target budgets, and maintain a strong active opportunity pipeline (EUR 4 million target)

•    Deliver high-quality presentations of the full product range, prepare customised offers and negotiate contractual terms in line with corporate sales policy

•    Achieve minimum call volumes: 36 physical visits and 42 total activities (including calls and virtual meetings) per month

•    Collect customer information for RFI/RFP/RFQ processes and prepare implementation documents for smooth operational handover

•    Record all activities, quotes, wins and losses in CRM within 5 days

•    Adhere to approved credit limits, support receivables and ensure customer commitments are clearly communicated to operations

What You’ll Bring

•    Relevant experience in sales, business development and logistics, with a proven track record of achieving targets

•    A good working knowledge of airfreight, ocean freight, road freight, customs clearing, imports, exports and international trade

•    Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with a strong outcomes focus

•    Proven ability to build and manage client relationships

•    Strong Microsoft Office skills; CRM discipline

•    Results-oriented, achievement-driven mindset — the target is 3x CTC within 3 months of starting
