A global freight forwarding company is seeking a detail-oriented Export Agent to join the team in Jericho, NY. 3+ years of working experience in air or ocean expert coordination is mandatory. Cargowise software experience is an asset for the role. This is a full-time and direct hire position.
Export Agent Coordinator Duties:
- Coordinate and manage export shipments (air & ocean) from booking to final delivery
- Prepare and review export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping instructions, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations and international shipping requirements
- Communicate with carriers, overseas agents, and customers to ensure smooth operations
- Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues
- Maintain accurate records in internal systems and support billing processes
Export Agent Coordinator Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in freight forwarding or export operations
- Knowledge of export documentation and procedures
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines efficiently
- Experience with logistics software (CargoWise experience is a strong plus – implementation planned)
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
