Role Description The Expediteur Export/Import is a full-time hybrid role based in Rotterdam. In this role, you coordinate and manage export or import shipments by sea, including booking cargo, arranging transport, and preparing documentation according to international regulations and customer requirements. You communicate proactively with customers, carriers, and internal departments to monitor shipment status, resolve issues, and ensure on-time delivery. Daily tasks include handling customs-related procedures, maintaining accurate data in logistics systems, and supporting continuous improvement of operational processes. You contribute to a high level of customer service by providing timely updates, managing exceptions, and supporting the team in meeting performance and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of export and import procedures, including international shipping, customs, and documentation (e.g., bills of lading, airway bills, commercial invoices).
- Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations, preferably in sea freight and air freight environments.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple shipments and deadlines accurately.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, demonstrating reliability, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Vocational or bachelor-level education in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Fluency in English and Dutch; additional languages are an advantage.
- Prior experience in an international logistics company and familiarity with Rotterdam port operations are beneficial.
