Responsibilities

  • Operational Support & Execution
  • Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of port operations including vessel berthing, loading/unloading, and cargo handling.
  • Monitor daily terminal activities to ensure smooth operations and adherence to schedules.
  • Support supervisors in resolving operational issues and minimizing downtime.
  • Process Understanding & Improvement
  • Learn and apply port operation processes, SOPs, and industry best practices.
  • Identify areas for process optimization and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in efficiency enhancement projects and cost reduction programs.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Support implementation of safety procedures and compliance with statutory guidelines.
  • Assist in audits, inspections, and incident reporting.
  • Coordination & Stakeholder Management
  • Coordinate with internal teams (maintenance, logistics, marine operations) for seamless operations.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as shipping agents, customs authorities, and transporters under supervision.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Maintain operational records and prepare periodic reports on performance metrics (turnaround time, productivity, etc.).
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends and improvement areas.
  • Training & Development
  • Participate in structured training programs across various functions (operations, maintenance, safety, logistics).
  • Gain cross-functional exposure to understand end-to-end port operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Civil / Marine / Electrical / Industrial) OR
  • MBA / PGDM in Operations, Logistics, or Supply Chain
  • 0–2 years of experience
