Job Description

As European Freight Manager a.i., your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all European freight processes to ensure carriers and forwarders operate in line with company standards and expectations.
  • Full accountability for European freight vendors, ensuring performance across service, safety, sustainability, and compliance.
  • Ownership of freight budgets, including ongoing analysis, optimisation of freight spend, and monthly reporting to senior management.
  • Managing the European third-party warehouse network, ensuring performance, standards compliance, and budget adherence.
  • Developing and implementing new freight strategies and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Acting as deputy to the European Logistics Manager, including representation in SC EMEA management forums when required.
  • Leading and delivering logistics and supply chain projects, with a focus on cost reduction and optimisation.
  • Resolving freight-related issues including damages, delays, and operational disruptions.

The Successful Applicant

The Successful European Freight Manager A.i. Will Bring

  • At least 2 years' experience within logistics, ideally across warehousing and road/ocean freight.
  • Strong knowledge of European freight and warehousing regulations (EVOFENEDEX or similar preferred).
  • Proven experience managing carriers, forwarders, and third-party logistics partners.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and solid proficiency in MS Office.
  • Fluency in English and Dutch, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive, agile mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
