Job Description
As European Freight Manager a.i., your responsibilities will include:
- Managing all European freight processes to ensure carriers and forwarders operate in line with company standards and expectations.
- Full accountability for European freight vendors, ensuring performance across service, safety, sustainability, and compliance.
- Ownership of freight budgets, including ongoing analysis, optimisation of freight spend, and monthly reporting to senior management.
- Managing the European third-party warehouse network, ensuring performance, standards compliance, and budget adherence.
- Developing and implementing new freight strategies and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Acting as deputy to the European Logistics Manager, including representation in SC EMEA management forums when required.
- Leading and delivering logistics and supply chain projects, with a focus on cost reduction and optimisation.
- Resolving freight-related issues including damages, delays, and operational disruptions.
The Successful Applicant
The Successful European Freight Manager A.i. Will Bring
- At least 2 years' experience within logistics, ideally across warehousing and road/ocean freight.
- Strong knowledge of European freight and warehousing regulations (EVOFENEDEX or similar preferred).
- Proven experience managing carriers, forwarders, and third-party logistics partners.
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP and solid proficiency in MS Office.
- Fluency in English and Dutch, both written and verbal.
- A proactive, agile mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
