The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive quotations for clients across various transport modes including airfreight and seafreight. The role requires strong attention to detail, commercial awareness, and the ability to coordinate with internal departments, carriers, and service providers to ensure pricing solutions align with operational capabilities and client requirements.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business growth by providing timely quotations, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring that all pricing is aligned with company procedures, profitability targets, and service standards.
Requirements:
- BCom Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Transport Economics or relevant
- 3–5 years of experience in a pricing / estimating role – air or sea imports.
- Strong understanding of international freight pricing structures, Incoterms, and shipping processes.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills – both written and verbal.
- Manage high volumes of quote requests with quick turnaround times.
- ShipShape experience is advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate, detailed quotations for sea freight (FCL/LCL) and airfreight imports.
- Obtain and compare rates from international agents and other service providers.
- Respond to customer requests for pricing with urgency, accuracy, and insight into value-added options.
- Negotiate competitive rates when necessary to secure business.
- Handle customer queries regarding the estimate done
- Prioritize workload and communicate timeframes and expectations effectively.
- Work closely with the sales and operations teams to develop tailored, cost-effective solutions for clients.
