Job Description:
Life Line Ambulance is seeking a qualified Dispatch Call Taker. The Call Taker reports directly to the Director of Communications in conjunction with Dispatchers. The Call Taker is responsible for call intake/scheduling of emergency & non-emergency transportation needs for ambulance & wheelchair bound patients, answering general questions, directing callers to appropriate departments and assisting field personnel.
Responsibilities:
Answer, screen, and direct calls
Distinguish the need for emergency transportation
Pre-arrange transport for facilities while determining the level of care needed for the patients
Provide information and assistance for customer service inquiries as needed
Communicate with multiple departments and EMS personnel
Provide supportive information to customers to assist them in arranging appropriate transport
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Position Requirements:
A minimum of two years customer service or call center experience
Pleasant, professional phone manner
Detail oriented
Computer & typing skills
Ability to excel in high-stress environment
Adapt to frequently changing policies
Ability to learn policies and procedures for facilities and recognize when to apply them
Weekend availability
Preferred:
Medical background
EMD or EMT
-B/P certification preferred
