Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary E-commerce Director to lead and scale our retail e-commerce operations. This role is responsible for driving online sales performance, optimizing the customer journey, and integrating digital strategies with retail objectives to create a seamless omnichannel experience. You will lead cross-functional teams across digital marketing, merchandising, operations, and technology.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute the e-commerce strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
Identify growth opportunities across digital channels (DTC, marketplaces, social commerce, etc.).
Collaborate with executive leadership to align digital transformation initiatives.
Sales & Performance Management
Own P&L for e-commerce channels, setting and achieving revenue, margin, and profitability goals.
Monitor KPIs (traffic, conversion, AOV, CAC, ROAS, etc.) and implement initiatives to improve performance.
Customer Experience & Digital Merchandising
Lead the UX/UI optimization of the e-commerce platform to improve engagement and conversion.
Oversee site merchandising, promotions, and product content for accuracy and optimization.
Champion data-driven personalization and customer segmentation strategies.
Digital Marketing & CRM
Manage digital acquisition channels including SEO, SEM, email, affiliate, social, and paid media.
Collaborate with marketing to drive integrated campaigns that convert and retain customers.
Technology & Platform Management
Oversee the performance and development of the e-commerce platform (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
Partner with IT/Dev teams to ensure platform reliability, scalability, and innovation.
Evaluate and implement tools and systems that enhance e-commerce capabilities (analytics, search, personalization, etc.).
Team Leadership
Build and lead a high-performing e-commerce team, providing mentorship and performance management.
Foster collaboration between e-commerce, marketing, logistics, and retail operations teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, E-commerce, or a related field (MBA preferred).
7+ years of experience in e-commerce or digital leadership, ideally in the retail industry.
Proven success managing large-scale e-commerce operations and P&L ownership.
Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive decisions (Google Analytics, BI tools, etc.).
Deep understanding of digital marketing, UX, merchandising, and fulfillment logistics.
Experience with e-commerce platforms and digital tools (e.g., Shopify, Magento, GA4, Klaviyo, etc.).
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
