Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Transport Operations & Linehaul Specialist to join our logistics team. This role is pivotal in optimizing linehaul operations, ensuring cost efficiency, and enhancing overall transport network performance through effective planning, vendor management, and tech-driven process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct load studies and lane analysis to optimize vehicle requirements and ensure efficient utilization.
Design and implement route planning and transport network strategies.
Analyze vehicle usage trends and respond proactively to operational requirements.
Source and manage vendors, including conducting performance reviews and compliance monitoring.
Collaborate with regional/zonal teams to manage Express LHV (Long Haul Vehicle) placements and requirements.
Oversee vendor agreements, onboarding, and adherence to operational standards.
Source and deploy Express LV (Light Vehicles) and monitor daily compliance.
Handle ad hoc vehicle placement and ensure availability as per business needs.
Monitor and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly transportation costs to identify savings opportunities.
Perform Cost Per Kilometer (CPK) analysis for regular and ad hoc transport.
Implement strategies for cost optimization, improving CPK and maximizing vehicle utilization.
Lead cost negotiations and aim to reduce market hiring costs by formalizing structured agreements.
Collaborate with the tech team for real-time vehicle performance tracking and ad hoc hiring visibility.
Drive system and tool development to enhance tracking, reporting, and performance management.
Develop and maintain KPIs and matrices for cost, usage, and vendor performance & Skills:
Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in transport operations, logistics planning, or vendor management.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in route optimization and cost analysis.
Hands-on experience with transport management systems (TMS) and logistics software tools.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Data-driven mindset with attention to operational efficiency and continuous Qualifications:
Experience in Express or E-commerce logistics.
Working knowledge of Long Haul and Light Vehicle deployment strategies.
Familiarity with contract management and vendor lifecycle management tools.
