Our client is a well-established shipbroking firm with a proud record of delivering reliable and professional services to a diverse range of clients. Although their focus has not traditionally included dry bulk, they are now presented with an exciting opportunity to support a new key client with regular cargoes. Consequently, they are seeking an experienced Dry Bulk Shipbroker to join their team.
Position Overview:
You will be the resident expert responsible for securing and negotiating fixtures. Your role will involve cultivating relationships with shipowners and charterers, ensuring the smooth execution of deals and fostering client satisfaction. The position may be based in Ireland or undertaken remotely, with occasional travel as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Negotiate and fix vessels.
Identify and liaise with potential shipowners and operators to expand the client and vessel network.
Monitor market trends, freight rates, and vessel availability, providing timely market insights to clients and colleagues.
Manage post-fixture follow-up and coordinate operational aspects with all involved parties.
Develop and maintain strong commercial relationships with clients, partners, and industry contacts.
Qualifications & Experience:
Demonstrable experience in dry bulk shipbroking or a related commercial shipping role.
Strong network within the dry bulk sector, encompassing owners, charterers, and agents.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Solid commercial awareness and understanding of global shipping markets and commodities.
Ability to work independently, juggle multiple priorities, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is advantageous.
