Requirements
Current Class 5 or Class 4 BC Driver’s license
Clean Driver’s Abstract and experience driving on gravel roads
Ability to pass a light fitness test (2.25 km walk with 20 lbs. backpack in less than 22 minutes)
Current Basic First Aid & Transportation Endorsement Certifications
S100 – Basic Wildland Fire Suppression certification
S185 – Fire Entrapment Avoidance and Safety certification
WHMIS certification
Note:
S100, S185, and WHMIS training will be provided to those who do not already have the certification.
Duties
Operate as a Driver of a First Aid Vehicle at forest fire locations or camps
Assist with paperwork, operate radios, support First Aid attendants
Drivers will not perform firefighting duties
Work may be required anywhere in BC; our office is in Cranbrook. We are preparing for the 2025 summer firefighting season and need individuals ready when called upon. Workers are on call on an as-needed basis, with typical 12-hour shifts, potentially up to 14 days at a time.
