Job Description

We are currently seeking a reliable and physically capable Dock Worker to join our team. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe loading and unloading of freight, primarily utilizing a forklift. You will also play a key part in maintaining an organized and clean dock environment and ensuring accurate handling of all shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to load and unload inbound and outbound trailers.
Load and unload freight from local Pickup and Delivery (P&D) units.
Accurately document any overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D) in accordance with company procedures.
Reweigh and cube freight as required.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock and yard area, ensuring it is free of debris.
Perform some heavy lifting as needed to move and handle freight.
Assist customers with freight pick-ups and drop-offs in a professional and courteous manner.
Perform general cleaning duties for the dock and trailers.
Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Demonstrate flexibility to work afternoon and night shifts when operational needs require.
Qualifications
Proven experience operating a forklift.
Excellent punctuality and attendance is an asset. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with customers. Positive attitude
Nice-to-Have Skills/
Experience:
Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
Familiarity with electronic scanning certifications beyond forklift operation.
