The Distribution Center Manager plays an important role in the success of the company and is a facility leadership position. The VC Distribution Center provides fulfillment services and performs high volume cross-docking services. You will lead all Distribution Center employees and ensure the overall operation is efficient and seamless. Employee management and facility leadership will be a key aspect of this positions success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide leadership, guidance, and management to employees through VCs Core Values FACTS
Quickly establish yourself as an engaging and inclusive leader with ownership for the teams ability to maximize its productivity, growth, and development
Administer timecards and time-off for location employees.
Create a positive work environment through daily observation and specific constructive and actionable feedback
Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload across the team.
Maintain the locations WMS system and ensure accurate inventory control
Interview and hire new employees when necessary
Partner with the organization to meet business goals and customer needs through freight management
Understand cross-docking and LTL freight
Independence and professionalism with interpersonal, organization, and time management skills
Dependable and able to work in a team environment
Ability to communicate effectively and receive instruction
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work with urgency
Complete and accurate paperwork related to customer orders
Count and check products for accuracy and quality, maintain accurate records, report overages and shortages
On time loading and delivery of customer orders and resolution of customer issues
Optimization of operation to reduce cost and maximize productivity.
Management reports (varies based on need)
Compliance with all OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA rules/regulations by all warehouse employees
Maintain and promote a safe work environment at the warehouse and safety performance of all employees
Compliance with all company policies, procedures, and customer requirements
Proper handling of hazardous materials as it pertains to bills of lading, freight bills, placarding, employee training, and accidents
Implementation of the companys disciplinary policies
Hands on individual required (may drive a straight truck and operate a forklift if needed)
Quick learner of all things VC

REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent
Cross-docking and LTL experience
2 years of management experience (preferred)
Basic computer and Microsoft Office literacy skills (preferred)
