Role Description The Dispatcher – Regional Truckload role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sacramento, CA. This role is responsible for coordinating and dispatching regional truckload drivers, assigning loads, and managing daily routes to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries. The Dispatcher will monitor driver locations and status, adjust schedules as needed, and communicate any changes or issues with drivers, customers, and internal teams. Daily responsibilities include updating transportation management systems, maintaining accurate records, and resolving logistical challenges in real time. The role also involves supporting compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while providing professional, courteous service to drivers and customers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in dispatching or transportation coordination, preferably in regional or truckload operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Ability to use dispatch or transportation management software, along with basic proficiency in MS Office tools.
  • Solid organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of DOT regulations, safety practices, and general trucking industry standards is beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in logistics or transportation is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site in Sacramento, CA, with flexibility for extended hours or shift work as business needs require.
