Role Description The Dispatcher role at GB Group Recycling Ltd. is a full-time, on-site position based in Surrey, BC. The Dispatcher coordinates daily routes and schedules for drivers, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs across multiple construction sites. This role involves monitoring vehicle locations, adjusting routes as needed, and communicating clear instructions to drivers and site contacts. The Dispatcher responds to service requests, manages order changes, and resolves scheduling conflicts to maintain efficient operations. Day-to-day tasks also include updating dispatch logs, using dispatch or routing software, collaborating with operations and customer service teams, and supporting safety and compliance procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation scheduling, preferably in waste management, construction, or related industries.
  • Proficiency with dispatch, routing, or fleet management software, and strong general computer skills (e.g., email, spreadsheets, data entry).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records, schedules, and service documentation.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound judgment when handling service issues, delays, or emergencies.
  • Ability to work on-site in Surrey, BC, in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as part of an operations team.
  • Knowledge of the local geography in greater Vancouver and surrounding areas is an asset.
  • Commitment to safety, reliability, and environmentally responsible practices.
  • Previous experience in customer service and dealing with construction site contacts is an asset.
