Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to coordinate and manage the flow of transportation and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and efficient dispatching of vehicles, while maintaining communication with drivers and clients. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze data effectively.
Duties
Coordinate daily dispatch operations to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Communicate with drivers via phone systems to provide updates and instructions.
Utilize Fleet Management software to monitor vehicle locations and statuses.
Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring all documentation is accurate.
Oversee Transportation Management activities, optimizing routes for efficiency.
Analyze transportation data to improve operational performance and reduce costs.
Utilize GPS technology to track deliveries and provide real-time updates.
Maintain records in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) for compliance and reporting.
Skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with drivers and clients.
Proficiency in phone systems for clear communication during dispatch operations.
Experience with Fleet Management software and tools.
Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes within a logistics environment.
Familiarity with Transportation Management principles and practices.
Ability to analyze data for operational improvements.
Experience with Oracle Transportation Management or similar systems is a plus.
Understanding of GPS technology for tracking vehicle movements.
