Role Description The Dispatcher role is a full-time, on-site position based in Canada. The Dispatcher will coordinate daily truck movements, assign loads and dedicated lanes to AZ drivers and owner operators, and ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries across Canada and the USA. Responsibilities include monitoring routes, communicating schedule changes, updating dispatch software and logs, and resolving issues such as delays or route adjustments. The role involves frequent communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams to maintain service quality, safety compliance, and efficient use of equipment and personnel.
Qualifications
- Experience in transportation or logistics dispatch, including coordinating drivers and routes for regional and long-haul operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with drivers, customers, and internal staff.
- Proficiency with dispatch or transportation management systems, as well as general computer skills (email, spreadsheets, mapping tools).
- Solid organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple trips, address delays, and adjust schedules in real time.
- Knowledge of Canadian and US road networks, basic cross-border procedures, and relevant safety and compliance practices.
- Ability to work on-site in Canada, in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and reliability in shift coverage.
- Previous experience in trucking, freight, or logistics operations is an asset; post-secondary education in logistics or a related field is beneficial.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support drivers and customers across different routes and time zones.
