Dispatcher Goal: Works independently and as part of the team to maintain and improve customer needs. Interacts with all levels of employees on a regular basis and utilizes independent judgement regarding general business operations and policies. Coordinates pickup and delivery loads with internal/external customers to assure all service levels are met with clear and punctual communication.
Dispatcher Job Duties:
Working within TMS, MS Outlook and Office Suites and Online Web Portals
Dispatcher:
· Ensures all driver routes and loads are covered and in a timely manner
· Confirms drivers have proper instructions to perform their duties safely
· Coordinates with vendors for equipment repair
· Plans drivers dispatch, assigns loads to drivers according to business needs/capabilities
· Communicates with drivers to provide dispatch instructions
· Assists drivers in resolving complex issues
· Proactively communicates with team on all load and/or driver issues
· Maintain communication with drivers and identify any existing and/or potential services failures/issues; attempts to minimize impact to the customer
· Knowledge of DOT/CDL compliance
· Coordinate company/customer needs with driver availability while ensuring drivers stay within hours-of-service requirements.
