Woody’s Trucking, Inc. is seeking a motivated and highly organized Dispatch Coordinator to support our growing transportation operation. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, communicating with customers and drivers, and helping keep freight moving efficiently.
Responsibilities
· Coordinate customer delivery appointments and ensure on-time service.
· Communicate daily shipment updates with customers, drivers, and dispatch staff.
· Prepare and distribute load information to drivers.
· Monitor freight movement, trailer locations, and delivery status using transportation management and tracking systems.
· Assist drivers with route information, delivery instructions, and problem resolution.
· Maintain accurate records of detention, accessorial charges, storage, and other load-related information.
· Answer incoming calls and provide professional customer support.
· Support dispatch operations by tracking load progress and ensuring timely communication between customers and drivers.
· Maintain organized driver load and dispatch records.
· Support payroll preparation, invoicing, fuel reporting, and other administrative tasks.
· Crosstrain in office operations to provide coverage and support during employee absences.
· Contribute to a professional, organized, and team-oriented work environment.
· Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
· Dispatch Coordinator will participate in an on-call rotation, serving every third weekend from Friday evening through Monday morning. Occasional weekday evening on-call coverage may also be required.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
· Transportation, logistics, dispatch, customer service, or office experience preferred.
· Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
