Overview

Director of Operations, Logistics Jobs in Brooklyn Center, MN at Imprint Engine

About Us:

At Imprint Engine, we’re more than a company; we’re a creative partner dedicated to elevating companies’ brands through engaging brand experiences (apparel, merch, print & more). Our commitment to innovation, quality, and speed sets us apart in the industry. We thrive on challenges, transforming “impossible” into “I’m possible” with every project we tackle. Our clients, ranging from local gems to global powerhouses, depend on us to elevate their brands with our unique blend of creativity, precision, and efficiency.

About the Role:

This role is the strategic and operational anchor of our fulfillment and logistics division. You will own the end-to-end fulfillment lifecycle — from inbound receiving and inventory management through kitting, decoration coordination, and global outbound logistics. You will directly lead our Fulfillment Manager and his team, investing in their growth, systematizing best practices, and building the frameworks that allow Imprint Engine to scale reliably for our largest and most demanding clients.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Fulfillment Manager and broader team; build a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement
  • Define the multi-year fulfillment roadmap aligned with Imprint Engine’s growth trajectory across enterprise, retail, and event-based accounts
  • Establish clear KPIs, SLAs, and performance scorecards for the fulfillment team; conduct regular cadences for review and coaching
  • Partner with Sales, Brand Management, and Production to align fulfillment capacity with pipeline demand

Global Logistics & Carrier Strategy

  • Own carrier and 3PL relationships across domestic and international shipping lanes (FedEx, UPS, DHL, DSV, WAC Logistics, and others)
  • Develop and manage global logistics synergy frameworks that reduce transit times, optimize carrier selection, and minimize duties exposure on cross-border shipments
  • Lead customs documentation and compliance processes for international shipments, including countries such as Brazil, South Korea, Hong Kong, Canada, Egypt, and Ireland
  • Build rate negotiation strategies and benchmark carrier performance to drive cost efficiency without sacrificing delivery reliability

Inventory Systems & Warehouse Operations

  • Master the inventory management ecosystem including Acumatica (ERP), ShipStation, and commonsku integrations; drive accuracy, visibility, and real-time inventory health
  • Implement lean warehouse methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to eliminate waste, reduce pick/pack errors, and improve throughput
  • Evolve SKU governance, receiving standards, and slotting strategies that support high-velocity fulfillment across thousands of branded items
  • Develop and maintain cycle-count programs and physical inventory reconciliation processes to sustain near-zero shrinkage

Fulfillment Operations & Execution Excellence

  • Oversee the daily execution of kitting, drop-ship, bulk, and event-based fulfillment — often with same-day or next-day in-hands requirements
  • Establish escalation frameworks for time-critical orders and high-stakes client deadlines; ensure the team has clear decision-making authority at each level
  • Partner with Production on in-house decoration handoffs (apparel deco, embroidery, printing) to ensure seamless handoffs from production floor to ship station
  • Drive continuous improvement of the WF (Workflow) ticket system and fulfillment request processes to reduce friction, increase throughput, and improve communication

What You’ll Bring

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of progressive fulfillment, warehouse, or supply chain leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a director-level or equivalent role
  • Demonstrated expertise in global logistics and multi-carrier management, including international freight, customs compliance, and cross-border shipping strategy
  • Hands-on experience with inventory management systems (Acumatica, NetSuite, or equivalent ERP) and shipping platforms (ShipStation or similar)
  • Proven track record applying lean/continuous improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen) in a warehouse or fulfillment environment
  • Experience managing team members across operational and supervisory roles; strong coaching and performance management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in promotional products, branded merchandise, print-on-demand, or a comparable high-SKU, high-variety fulfillment environment
  • Experience with kitting operations, event-based logistics, and multi-location drop-shipping at scale
  • Familiarity with commonsku, Acumatica, ShipStation, and/or Jira Service Management
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, or comparable supply chain certification
  • Experience managing EMEA or APAC shipping lanes and customs brokerage relationships

Travel Required: Up to 10% — domestic partner visits
