Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Director, Business Development to lead sales efforts within Contract Logistics & Warehousing in the Freight Forwarding sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth. This position requires a deep understanding of contract logistics, supply chain solutions, and warehouse operations, along with strong industry relationships and a track record of success in business development.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to grow contract logistics and warehousing services within the freight forwarding industry.

Identify and target prospective customers, build strong relationships, and convert leads into long-term partnerships.

Negotiate and close contracts with clients, ensuring solutions align with their supply chain needs and business objectives.

Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, finance, and marketing, to design and implement customized logistics solutions.

Conduct market analysis and competitive benchmarking to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges.

Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract execution, while maintaining a strong sales pipeline.

Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including shippers, manufacturers, retailers, and e-commerce companies.

Lead presentations and proposals for prospective clients, demonstrating expertise in logistics solutions, warehouse management systems (WMS), and transportation services.

Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (MBA preferred).

Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within contract logistics, warehousing, or freight forwarding.

Proven track record of closing high-value contracts and driving revenue growth in logistics solutions.

Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and supply chain optimization.

Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess client needs and propose tailored solutions.

Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
