Delivery Assistant Manager (Nights) – Oakville, ON
The Delivery Assistant Manager supports the Delivery Manager by overseeing the daily operations and overall success of the delivery team. The role is responsible for managing productivity across delivery functions, ensuring workload balance, on‑time departures, complete documentation, and a safe, organized workspace. It promotes strong teammate engagement through daily huddles, coaching, performance reviews, and support for training and development. Responsibilities also include accurate scheduling, compliance with driver and truck file requirements, and adherence to company policies, transportation regulations, and safety standards.
The Assistant Manager maintains professional customer service, ultimately responding to emergent operational issues as required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage shift delivery productivity, including workload balancing, on‑time departures, documentation accuracy, and overall efficiency of delivery operations.
- Lead daily team huddles and support engagement through coaching, performance reviews, compliance monitoring, and corrective actions.
- Oversee teammate scheduling, ensuring adequate staffing levels, accurate payroll approvals, and proper equipment assignments.
- Maintain driver compliance with all tracking tools such as LYTX and Geo Tab systems.
- Maintain truck file documentation and adhere to transportation regulations and company policies.
- Ensure the delivery team upholds professional and courteous customer service standards.
- Maintain fleet maintenance schedules and address maintenance issues promptly.
- Partner with Safety & Compliance to maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment aligned with policies and legal requirements.
- Respond to emergent or unforeseen operational issues to support uninterrupted delivery service.

Certifications / Licenses: Commercial Driver’s License preferred, supporting general knowledge of duties and emergency coverage.
Specific Knowledge and Skills
- Strong knowledge of delivery operations, including workload balancing, on‑time departures, and productivity management.
- Ability to coach, support, and engage teammates through performance feedback, training, and daily communication.
- Solid understanding of transportation regulations, driver compliance requirements, and documentation standards.
- Proficient organizational and scheduling skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to respond to emergent issues.
- Excellent customer service skills with professionalism.
- Working knowledge of safety procedures and partnership with Safety & Compliance.
