TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Dedicated Customer Service Representative working out of our office in Joplin, MO.

HOURS: Monday – Friday, 7am-4:30pm

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The primary function of a Dedicated Customer Service Rep is to manage ongoing relationships with customers within a designated area by accepting freight, resolving issues, and maintaining customer requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and maintain relationships with Dedicated customers
Ensure driver and company productivity goals are being met
Review a list of incoming trucks while speaking directly with customers to take load information and book freight on all available trucks
Ability to maintain assigned territory of customers
Maintain and log pre-booked freight that cannot be immediately assigned
Contact new and existing customers to solicit additional freight, as necessary to load trucks within the designated area
Research and resolve customer inquiries and problem
Effectively communicate with customers, sales, fleet managers, and other internal personnel
Participate in total quality management and process improvement teams
Utilize web-based technology to gather and track operation data
Enter customer data and shipping instructions into a computer database

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Four-year degree, preferably in Transportation and Logistics and/or relevant experience
Fluent in keyboard proficiency and 10-key
Ability to plan, organize, be attentive to detail and possess a strong problem-solving skill
Strong customer solicitation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment and tolerate stress
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to sit and use a telephone and computer simultaneously for extended periods of time
Must be able to speak and hear clearly in a high volume telephone environment
