Role Description The Customs Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Alexandria, Egypt. The position is responsible for coordinating import and export customs clearance, preparing and reviewing documentation, and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. Day-to-day activities include liaising with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and clients, monitoring shipment status, and resolving customs-related issues. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, staying up to date with customs laws and tariff changes, and supporting internal teams with customs procedures and regulatory requirements to ensure smooth, timely cargo movement.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Customs Brokerage skills and a solid understanding of customs regulations and procedures.
- Candidates should possess Import and Import Export skills, including documentation, clearance processes, and compliance with trade laws.
- Candidates should possess Export skills, including preparing export documentation and coordinating with relevant authorities and partners.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for interacting with customs officials, clients, and internal teams.
- Relevant experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations is beneficial.
- Knowledge of trade compliance, tariff classification, and duty/tax calculations is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
- Proficiency with logistics or customs management software and standard office applications.
- Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field is preferred.
