Role Description The Customs Specialist is a full-time, on-site position based in Phnom Penh. This role involves managing customs clearance procedures for import and export shipments, including preparing and reviewing documentation, coordinating with customs authorities, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Customs Specialist will communicate with clients and internal teams to clarify requirements, provide status updates, and resolve issues that may arise during the clearance process. Daily tasks include verifying shipment details, monitoring regulatory changes, maintaining accurate records, and helping optimize customs processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The role also requires proactive problem-solving to prevent delays and support smooth logistics operations.
Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in customs brokerage, including customs procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in import and export operations, with the ability to manage import/export and import-export documentation and processes.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly and professionally with customs officials, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for handling multiple shipments, documents, and deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze regulations and apply them to real-world scenarios to prevent compliance issues.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and familiarity with customs-related systems or platforms.
  • Relevant experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or trade compliance is an advantage.
  • Diploma or degree in logistics, international trade, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Capacity to work on-site in Phnom Penh and collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment.
