About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Operations Coordinator to join our Netherlands team. This role is responsible for managing the full customs clearance process for import and export shipments, ensuring all cargo is handled legally, compliantly, and efficiently. The ideal candidate has solid experience with customs documentation, declaration systems, and international trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, prepare, and manage full sets of import/export customs documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and regulatory certificates.
  • Complete customs declaration entries and submissions through customs systems while proactively tracking clearance status.
  • Coordinate customs inspections, prepare supporting documentation, and assist in resolving inspection-related issues both remotely and onsite.
  • Act as the main operational contact with overseas agents, customs brokers, and logistics partners to monitor customs clearance progress after cargo arrival.
  • Handle clearance exceptions such as cargo holds, amendments, customs inspections, and related operational issues.
  • Communicate release information promptly to internal teams including trucking and warehouse operations.
  • Maintain organized records of customs declarations, tax documents, and related files.
  • Stay updated on customs regulations and support internal process optimization to minimize compliance risks.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or above; majors in International Trade, Logistics, Customs, or related fields preferred.
  • Relevant hands-on customs operations experience with familiarity in customs declaration systems.
  • Experience handling multiple trade models, including general trade and cross-border e-commerce (9610/9710/9810), is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HS code classification, customs declaration requirements, and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent documentation management skills, attention to detail, and risk awareness.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively with customs authorities, agents, and internal teams.
  • English proficiency required for daily work communication.
