Summary

The customer service representative provides effective customer service by establishing a working relationship with internal and external customers through communication via mail or telephone or in person with customers or company employees. This position will need to work effectively with Logistics and Production Departments. This position will receive day-to-day direction from the Customer Service Manager.

Essential Functions

1. Process customer orders, changes and returns through customer approval according to established policies and procedures.

2. Assist with setting production order schedules and customer delivery requests.

3. Understand and effectively utilize order entry systems and spreadsheet applications.

4. Receive customer complaints and disputes, coordinate related communications, and process replacement orders.

5. Maintain customer information.

6. Prepare sales and freight quotes.

7. Provide timely and accurate information on order status and product knowledge requests.

8. Serve as liaison with sales, manufacturing, engineering and shipping personnel.

1. Provide coverage for other Customer Service Representatives as necessary.

3. Participate in physical inventories at all locations as needed.

4. Provide coverage for the front desk/receptionist as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment. The routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers is required.

The position will occasionally operate within the company manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use the telephone; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Filing of materials is required. This may include the ability to lift files/materials, open filing cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.

This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime may be required.
