Company Overview:
The client was established as an Asset-Based group with the 1st-Class license for Ocean, Air, Drayage, Warehousing and Distribution as a one-stop supply chain service provider. We are fully licensed to run operations as NVOCC, CASS, Customs Broker (AEO&C-TPAT), Bonded warehouse, FTZ (Foreign Trade Zone), Freight Broker, Bonded Carrier, CEIV Pharma, DOT, TSA , ISO etc. They are seeking a highly skilled and entrepreneurial Country Manager to spearhead the operations in Malaysia and drive regional expansion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Setup and Expansion:
Initiate and oversee the setup and startup operations of the company in Malaysia, including office and/or port facilities.
Formulate and execute expansion plans across Southeast Asia, with a focus on exploring opportunities in Indonesia.
Capitalize on the growing demand from Chinese manufacturing companies by establishing and nurturing client relationships in the region.
Financial Management and Client Relations:
Take ownership of the Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibilities, ensuring financial targets and operational efficiencies are met.
Cultivate and manage long-term relationships with clients in China, Malaysia, and other key markets across the region.
Operations and Logistics Management:
Oversee all aspects of commercial, logistic, and operational activities, ensuring seamless execution of supply chain services.
Leverage Mandarin language proficiency to effectively communicate with Chinese clients and navigate cultural nuances.
Business Development and Strategic Planning:
Identify and pursue business opportunities within the solar panel manufacturing sector and related industries.
Develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with the company’s objectives and market trends.
Utilize existing resources and industry connections to streamline business setup processes and optimize supply chain operations.
Team Building and Talent Acquisition:
Recruit, assemble, and lead a dynamic team of professionals across various functions including finance, operations, and customer relations.
Develop a cohesive team culture that fosters innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field, advanced degree or professional certifications or equivalent.
Proven track record of a minimum 15 years of experience in senior management roles within the logistics, freight forwarding, or related industries.
Extensive experience in managing P&L, client relationships, and cross-functional teams.
Fluency in Mandarin is essential for effective communication with Chinese clients and team members.
Strong understanding of the solar panel manufacturing sector and broader knowledge of automotive and supply chain logistics is an added advantage.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a startup environment and drive business expansion initiatives.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
