Key Job Responsibilities

Plan and schedule carriers to execute Conner shipments.

Salary $50,000-55,000 yearly plus variables

Requirements

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

Coordinate with regional plant locations to plan and schedule carrier transportation of lumber, pallets, crates, and other industrial packaging

Coordinate with mill and other suppliers to plan and schedule carrier transportation of lumber and other supplies to plant locations

Develop and nurture quality relationships with carriers and transportation brokers to ensure responsive, efficient, and cost-effective pickups and deliveries

Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external contacts

Follow up to ensure scheduled loads are picked up and delivered on time, and troubleshoot any delays to meet customer delivery expectations

Maintain open levels of communication between plant personnel, carriers/brokers, and company management

Identify and mitigate any transportation issues, communicating with and/or elevating to company management as necessary

Assist in establishing, managing and growing carrier/broker relationships

Qualifications, Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree desired, or equivalent work experience

At least 5+ years transportation experience, brokerage experience a plus

Must be self-motivated and able to make limited and independent judgments based on given alternatives

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Must be a modern, forward thinker not afraid to try new things and adapt to change

Computer proficient, able to adapt to internal systems with strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills

Analytic skills to quickly and accurately assimilate information making sound business decisions

Understand importance of ‘do what you say’
