Job Summary:
The Compliance and Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring the company complies with all DOT regulations, including FMCSA, OSHA, state-specific safety requirements, as well as TSA regulations. The role involves overseeing fleet management, ensuring regular vehicle inspections and maintenance, and maintaining accurate compliance records. This position collaborates with HR and operations to ensure proper documentation for drivers and conducts safety audits to identify and address potential risks. The manager is also responsible for developing safety training programs, investigating compliance violations, and communicating with regulatory agencies. Ultimately, this role facilitates the company’s ongoing compliance with transportation safety regulations and ensures that safety is a top priority for all terminals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Oversee and ensure compliance with all DOT regulations, including FMCSA, OSHA, and state-specific safety requirements
Fleet management – Ensure all vehicles and equipment are regularly inspected and maintained according to regulatory standards
Collaborate with operations and HR to ensure proper documentation and compliance for all drivers (drive qualifications, medical exams, hours of service, background checks, etc.)
Monitor and maintain accurate records for vehicle inspections, facility inspections, and all compliance-related documentation
Conduct regular safety audits and compliance inspections for both our fleet and facilities to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to safety standards
Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and changes in DOT rules, ensuring the company remains compliant at all times
Develop and implement safety training programs for drivers and staff, ensuring ongoing education on DOT rules, regulations, and best practices
Oversee investigations of potential compliance violations and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken
Communicate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and resolve any issues
Maintain all terminals prepared for safety inspections
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm
Pay Starting At: $60,000 to $70,000/ year, depending on experience

Education and Experience:
In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, OSHA, and applicable laws and regulations related to air freight transportation
At least 3 years of experience in DOT compliance management, preferably in air freight transportation
Proven track record of managing safety programs and ensuring regulatory compliance
High School Diploma
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
