Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commercial Driver’s License A Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate must be at 21 years of age with a clean driving record with NO DUI. This position allows the driver to be home daily and weekends with performance pay incentives and flexible scheduling. The candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently primarily in the Memphis area while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle different types of freight. Container freight experience is a plus.
Duties
- Operate a tractor-trailer unit, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of freight.
- Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.
- Navigate routes effectively while adhering to delivery schedules.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding any issues or delays encountered during transport.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving on public roads.
Skills
- Proficient in operating automatic transmission vehicles.
- Strong truck driving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency in commercial driving.
- Previous delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to load and unload freight safely using appropriate techniques.
- Familiarity with route driving and navigation systems.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with dispatch and customers.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address any challenges that arise during transport.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $1,500.00 – $2,500.00 per week
