Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, on long-distance OTR routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure efficient delivery schedules and timely arrivals.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of cargo such as hazardous materials or dangerous goods when applicable.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking load security, tire condition, brakes, lights, and fluid levels.
- Manage delivery documentation accurately, including bills of lading and logs that record driving hours in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Maintain communication with dispatch teams regarding route progress, delays, or issues encountered during transportation.
- Ensure adherence to hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous substances.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and proven experience in commercial truck driving.
- Demonstrated expertise in driving tractor-trailers with manual transmission and manual handling skills.
- Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized freight equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight including freight loading/unloading techniques.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments.
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as load & unload operations safely and efficiently.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, route driving efficiency, and customer service during delivery driving assignments.

Pay: $0.55 – $0.60 per mile
