Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to traffic laws, and excellent route planning skills. Experience with different types of trucks, including flatbed, tanker, tractor-trailer, dump truck, and forklift operation, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Operate and drive various types of trucks including flatbeds, tankers, and tractor-trailers.
Ensure timely delivery of freight to designated locations while adhering to scheduled routes.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery records.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any issues encountered on the road.
Load and unload cargo as necessary, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage.
Follow all safety protocols and regulations while on the road and during loading/unloading processes.
Requirements
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle being driven.
Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles.
Familiarity with route driving and navigation systems.
Ability to operate forklifts and other loading equipment is a plus.
Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Must pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy.
Ability to work flexible hours including nights or weekends if necessary.
