Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers equipped with pneumatic systems for transporting bulk materials such as powders or grains across over-the-road (OTR) routes
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with Hazardous Materials Regulations (Hazmat) and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards
- Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes, maintain delivery schedules, and ensure timely arrivals at multiple destinations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, including checking the pneumatic system, brakes, lights, and safety equipment in accordance with FMCSA regulations
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records following FMCSA and DOT regulations
- Ensure proper securement of freight on flatbeds or tanker units during transit to prevent shifting or damage during transportation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered on the road
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Proven experience operating tractor-trailers with pneumatic or tanker systems preferrered.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations.
- Ability to handle manual tasks such as truck loading/unloading and cargo handling safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning for long-distance OTR driving routes
- Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling practices
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service excellence
