Position: Class A Driver-Home Daily
Caruso is a family owned, 4th generation company that delivers fresh ready-to-eat, and pre-cut produce, sandwiches, salads, and fresh meal kits to retail distribution centers and direct-to-retail stores all over the USA.
We are looking for experienced Class A drivers to drive Class A and B vehicles. Will be driving Class A vehicles 3 times a month picking up at 1 AM and Class B the rest of the time picking up at 2 PM.
This is touch freight, a 4-5 day work week, and home daily.
Job Summary:
The Route Driver is the face of the company and must always project a professional and positive image of Caruso while maintaining and building excellent customer relationships. This person is responsible for the safe operation of a motor vehicle and safely pick up and drop off items to customers so that the customer is given an excellent service experience. This person must maintain compliance with all company policies/procedures and DOT regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Operate a company provided CMV.
Deliver products to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
Follow routes and time schedule.
Load, unload, and deliver to customer specifications and obtain required customer sign offs.
Establish and maintain outstanding relationships with customers.
Review and verify invoices and purchase requests to ensure accuracy.
Complete DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
Follow safety and lifting protocols during deliveries.
Maintain delivery logs and records.
Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
Requirements:
1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
2. Must be able to work Saturday.
3. Must be able to work 2nd into 3rd shift.
4. Must have verifiable Class A or B driving experience.
5. A good driving record including none of the following:
Reckless driving
DUI/OMVI
Hit and Run
Excessive Speed as defined by DOT (15+ miles over)
No more than two moving violations within the last 24 months
6. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
7. Ability to work and drive in all types of weather.
8. Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
9. Excellent and prompt attendance each day scheduled.
Benefits include:
Pay up to $30 per hour depending on experience.
