Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate various road conditions. As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
Responsibilities
Operate and drive various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers and straight trucks, to transport freight to specified destinations.
Plan and follow efficient routes for timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with company standards.
Load and unload cargo using forklifts or manual methods as necessary, ensuring proper handling of goods.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and any incidents that occur during transport.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the truck, including refrigerated trailers when applicable.
Qualifications
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Proven experience in truck driving, preferably with route driving experience in tractor-trailer or tanker operations.
Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is needed.
Ability to operate forklifts safely for loading and unloading freight.
Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight transportation.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues.
