Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight using various types of trucks, including flatbed and tractor-trailer units. This role is crucial in ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
Duties
Operate and drive commercial vehicles, including flatbed trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers.
Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.
Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving on highways and local roads.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the truck.
Skills
Proven experience in truck driving, with a strong understanding of freight transportation.
Ability to operate forklifts for loading and unloading cargo as needed.
Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving.
Strong organizational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with basic mechanical troubleshooting for trucks is a plus.
